Who Are We?
Been There Before is a leading initiative in Hong Kong which consists of multiple healthcare profession student volunteers from across Hong Kong wanting to give back to their community.
The initiative aims to support graduate (degree holders) students and university students with healthcare degrees application, including medicine, veterinary medicine, physiotherapy, etc. Alongside mentoring, we run various webinars and provide a variety of resources to support our Mentees.
Our Central Team focuses on the smooth delivery of the programme, and is underpinned by the wonderful work of our brilliant Mentors.
Purpose of the Programme

To allow students to have a personal Mentor to encourage them in their studies towards becoming a healthcare student

To support with personal statement, work experience and interview preparation

To design a suitable application pathway for students, including place of study, length of programme, and qualification to practice in Hong Kong

To provide mental health support, lending a pair of listening ears and shoulder

Our ultimate goal is to help students with a passion for healthcare to get into professional schools
Programme Outline
The mentorship programme holds annually with an opening ceremony, marked as the beginning, and a closing ceremony, concluding the year-long mentorship. Of course, students are welcome to keep contact with our mentors and this big family. We will accept another batch of mentees in the subsequent year.
The initiative is completely free for students. No costs will ever be incurred.
Entry Criteria
Student must fulfil at least one of the following:

Attending a university/institution (tertiary education level) in Hong Kong or overseas OR;

Hold a bachelor's degree or above
*Secondary school students are also welcome to join for early exposure. However, priority will be given to candidates mentioned above.
